The Universal Plan

I believe the universe has a plan for me.

I am free from worry regarding the future. I trust in the plan the universe has for me. It is my  responsibility to rise to the occasion and make wise decisions. I am required to take action.

I am filled with confidence that I am on the right path. Each day, the plan for my life becomes clearer.

I notice all the little things that others might dismiss as coincidence. To me, they are subtle signs that everything is as it should be. I find great peace and comfort in this.

In challenging times, I strive to stay focused. I believe challenges are created to help me learn new skills or steer me in the right direction. When faced with obstacles, I immediately start looking for the meaning.

As the plan for my life unfolds, I become more excited about the future and wonder what may happen next. I find satisfaction in all of it.

I have little time to worry because I am too busy living my life.

Today, I am looking for signposts to guide my decisions. I am open to all the universe has in store for me. I believe the universe has a plan for me and I am living my life to the fullest in accordance with that plan.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1.    Am I open to all the possibilities that the universe has planned for me?

2.    In the past, have I missed golden opportunities?

3.    How can I prepare myself to notice when opportunities come my way?

Get Recharged

The Daily Reflection:

(a special note about this one: family and loved ones does not necessarily mean blood kin. Your family is who you choose them to be.)

Spending time with my loved ones recharges me.

Spending time with my family and friends restores my energy. My loved ones breathe new life into my days.

My family and friends help me to feel connected. I enjoy giving my time and support to the people close to me. I may cook a special dinner or give them a ride to the airport.

Quality time with my loved ones increases my ability to deal with stress. I bounce back from disappointments faster. I feel supported and loved by my friends.

When I am with my loved ones, I find myself smiling and laughing more. Movies and TV shows sem funnier when we watch them together. Being with loved ones can make difficult situations more bearable.

Most of all, it is easier to be my true self. I embrace myself with all my flaws and strengths. I receive validation. I am loved for who I am.

Sometimes we just hang out. We may do a load of laundry or watch a sunset. Other times we talk about anything from car troubles to our spiritual beliefs. I also ensure I spend time listening. I want to understand their views and experiences.

We share chores and adventures. Cleaning out the garage becomes more fun when we do it together as a family. Vacations become more exciting with a friend along for the sightseeing and scuba diving.

Today, I give thanks for my loved ones. Their presence fills me with energy and strength.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1.    How can I make more time in my schedule to spend with loved ones?

2.    How can I stay in touch with family and friends who live far away?

3.    What are some activities I enjoy sharing with family and friends?

Choose to Live

Here is the Daily Reflection:

I choose to live my life to the fullest.

I understand that life is short and unpredictable. Therefore, I bring all the joy, excitement, and passion I can into my life. This is a way of life that I find fulfilling, and it makes sense to me.

When faced with multiple options, I choose the one that excites me the most. The choice that fills me with passion and awe is the only option for me. I am committed to getting the most from my life.

I am taking steps that free from hesitation, worry, and self-consciousness. This allows me to take on bigger challenges with confidence as I move forward in my life.

By living this way, each day is interesting and exciting. I wake up with a sense of enthusiasm. Life is better when getting out of bed is easy. I love my life!

I am free from concerning myself with the expectations of others. I have my life to live and they are free to live theirs as they see fit.

Today, I strive to live my life to the maximum. I make choices that support my passions and serve as a good example to others.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1.    What is the one thing I would like to do that I have never done?

2.    Have I been living my life too cautiously and conservatively?

3.    How would my life change if I chose to live it to the fullest?

Finding Fullfillment

Today I am starting a series on self improvement.
Below is today's manta. It works like the law of attraction. They are called Reflections.

My personal interests fulfill me.

I love making spare time each day for my hobbies and interests. My hobbies and activities bring me many benefits. They relax and energize me all at the same time.

Spending time doing  my hobbies helps me stay in touch with my thoughts and feelings. I can work out stress and solve challenges while enjoying many of my hobbies.

Doing research on my favorite topics fuels my passion. When I read a book or seek out online material related to a favored hobby, my creative juices begin to flow. I think of new things I can do with the new knowledge gained.

I find it particularly enlightening to discover different ways of doing the physical activities that I enjoy. Watching a television show.

When I do the things I love, I am a healthier, happier person. I feel stronger, as if I can confront any troublesome situation and come out ahead of the game.

Today, I plan to spend at least an hour doing things I love to do. It is fulfilling to engage in activities that bring me comfort and happiness. Taking part in my beloved hobbies makes my life better in many ways.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1.    What are my favorite interests, hobbies, and activities?

2.    How often do I engage in the things I love to do?

3.    How can I work more time into my schedule for my personal interests?

Using Intuition

I trust my intuition to guide me.

I have the ultimate source of guidance and inspiration available to me at all times: my intuition.

My intuition is my sub-conscious mind trying to communicate with me. I may experience this as a “little voice,” emotions, or feelings in my body. It is my job to listen carefully so I can make smart choices.

My intuition is very wise. It has the same experiences that I do. It knows me completely. It is always trying to help and protect me. I am fortunate to have such a knowledgeable and loving advisor.

When I fail to listen to my intuition, I am likely to face bigger challenges than the ones that first appear.

However, I avoid following my intuition blindly. Sometimes it can be overprotective and limit me.

The voice of my intuition is easily muffled by anything that distracts my attention, so I spend a few quiet moments alone each day to foster better communication. My connection with my intuition is improving each day.

Today, I am open to receiving all messages from my intuition. My intuition provides great advice most of the time, so I trust it to guide me.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1.    When should I have listened to my intuition but did not?

2.    What would happen if I let my intuition make all of my decisions?

3.    Why do I resist my intuition?

How to Make the Best Decision

When I need to make a challenging decision, I determine the most viable options by considering all the available information, both positive and negative. I have confidence that I can make the best choices for myself.

First, I clarify what the actual challenge is. I let go of minor issues. For now, I find a solid handle on the troublesome situation. Next, I list my possible choices. Then, I circle the two best decisions that I can likely make, given the situation.

For each of those possibilities, I write down the pros and cons.

As I make my list of the pros, I take time to thoughtfully consider how things could go well if I were to make that selection.

As I write the cons, I try to imagine the downsides to the options I am considering.

I keep an open mind. When I am confident that I have considered everything, I am then ready to make a selection.

Today, I look at the positives and negatives when trying to determine the best way to go with a decision. I trust that I can consistently make the best decisions to live the life I desire by considering the pros and cons.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1.    How do I typically go about making a decision?

2.    When was the last time I weighed out the pros and cons of a situation before making a decision?

3.    What steps can I use to determine the positives and negatives of a situation prior to choosing my best options?

Six Principles to Build Trust

Six principles to build trust and generate advocacy:

1.    KNOW ME

·         Listen to me and understand my state of mind.

·         Recognize the emotional side of my problem.

·         Adapt to my needs.

·         Remember me and my issues.

·         Gauge my readiness to learn and understand in this moment.

And I will feel rewarded and recognized for being a valued customer!

2.    TALK TO ME

·         Calibrate your language to talk to me on my level.

·         Don’t confuse me with tech-jargon that I don’t understand.

·         Be straightforward; tell me the truth.

·         Take the time to listen to my request and understand my needs.

And I will feel you are focused on me and understand my needs!

3.    SHOW ME YOU OWN IT

·         Be 100% accountable.

·         Stick with me until I feel confident.

·         Anticipate, respond and adapt to my needs through the journey.

·         Help me know where to go for questions and issues.

·         Act outside of a script, share real personal ideas and guidance.

·         Don’t make me talk to a supervisor to get somewhere.

And I will give you credit for taking the time to resolve my issue!

4.    BE OPEN WITH ME

·         Inform me of the process.

·         Don’t put me on “black hold”.

·         Let me know where my queries stand at all times.

·         Give me evidence and assurance that it’s fixed.

And I will feel I’m dealing with someone I can trust!

5.    ARM ME

·         Give me something to talk about (Wow Me).

·         Give me the tools to teach others (Educate Me).

·         Inspire me to discover new things I can do with my technology.

And I will welcome your communication with me!

6.    VALUE ME

·         Be available to me where, how and when I need help.

·         Thank me for my business.

And I will feel appreciated!

Just 5 minutes

There are lots of things we can do that only takes five minutes. One of them is making a plan to take action.

We are all driven by emotions and ideas about who we are and how the world works. What are the emotions and ideas driving you?

Do you feel held back or stuck? How do you make decisions? How did you decide who you are? Or did someone else tell you who you are?

Take 5 minutes and think about this.

Did you know that you can change those emotions and ideas? All it takes is a decision. That sounds simple enough, but is it easy to do? Yes the decision is easy. Then what?  Are you going to wait for someone else or are you willing to do the work?

Take action. Take action now. No one else is going to do that work. If you are feeling stuck or held back then no one else is going to fix that. Yes there is help available. You are not alone. There are people to talk to and groups, books, videos, seminars and cd’s, but, the decision is still yours.

OK, let’s be honest. You can listen to and read all the self help material out there, but nothing is going to happen until you take action.

Action is the key.  Formulate a plan and take action. It is that simple. Everyone has bumps on the road, but that’s it they are moving down the road. So get up dust yourself off and keep moving.

If that first plan didn’t work to get you where you want to be, then make an adjustment. Don’t just give up because the first thing you tried didn’t work. Thomas Edison made hundreds of attempts before the light bulb was created. Every failed attempt showed him what didn’t work, so he could try again with another approach, same with the Wright brothers and the airplane, and Bell and Watson with the telephone. There are many great inventors that got it wrong the first time.

So don’t give up. Keep going.

Who are you?

Let me ask  you some  questions. Who are you? Do you really know yourself? What is that makes you you? Do you like who you are? Do you like how you are in the world or in private?

If you are not sure how to answer those questions, then it maybe time to really ponder them. After that ask yourself is there anything you would like to change or are you content?

It is so hard to be an individual with individual ideas and feelings today. We play the conformity game at work to please our bosses and coworkers. and we play the game at home to please our friends and family.

Would they like you, love you and appreciate you with out the game?

Answer this on a scale of one to ten. one being really bad and 10 being great, how happy are you with

family?
career?
health?
finances?
leisure time?

And how focused are you on each of these?
scale of one to ten...

Next what benifits are you getting from your answers? Even if your answers were 1's 2's or 3's there is still a benifit. you may have to look a little harder to find it, or may turn it around.

As an example... if you are really unhappy with your finances, and you are always asking friends and family for money. but on the other hand your really happy with your family. the benifit is that it keeps you connected to them. Even if the curcumstances of the relationship are not ideal.

So the next part  is how can you be happy with both, a good relationship with friends and family and created a healthier relationship with your finances?

Some changes may need to be made so that everyone benifits, and that all areas of your life are in balance.

Don't think about

You can't think about what you don't want to think about without thinking about it.

Huh? Break that down slowly. If I say don't think about chocolate. Your brain will actually think about it for just a split second, and for that split second you may really want that chocolate. But then I said don't think about, and now you are stuck, because you thinking about it.

This hold true for unpleasant things too. If I say don't think about crime, you're going to think about crime.

So keeping that in mind, if you are wanting prosperity in your life? Should you be thinking about the lack of prosperity?

No. Why not? Because your brain will accuay focus on the lack if instead of the abundance of it.

If you're trying to attract something into your life, then don't think about the lack of it, think about how much you would like to have.
This is hie the jaw of attraction works. If you concentrate on the jack then that is what you attract is more lack.

It's a matter of samantics. This is why diets fail. We end up putting our concentration on the lack, or on the foods  we shouldn't eat while dieting instead of the wonderful benefits we receive doing the diet.

It's why work is a four letter word. If you like work, then great, but if you don't like work, then it's a drag. And you will just make yourself more miserable wishing you are some place else.

So. Let's think about what we do want to think about. Let's concentrate on the good stuff, and have a happy abundant life.

Dream vs. Fantasy

What is the difference between a dream and a fantasy? You might think they are one in the same, but in this exercise they are not.

A dream is something you strongly desire. A dream is a hope for the future, a hope for something better.

A fantasy is a passing whimsy. It’s a daydream, another definition is “imagination, especially when extravagant and unrestrained.” That is from dictionary.com

A dream is what is going to lead you to the doorway of the future. It is something to attain. You can attach goals and actions to it. A fantasy can’t.

An example of a fantasy is flying away on the back of unicorn through a purple forest with the fairies and elves. Nice imagery huh?

What a good coach can do is help you tell the difference between fantasies and dreams, and then help you make goals and plans to achieve that dream. A good coach will also keep you on track towards that goal.

So, dreams are something we can act on to make our lives better, and fantasies are just merely products of our imaginations.

Dreaming for Real Coaching

This is a very exciting time. Learning new things, and getting to know new people. Setting new goals….

I have added the word “Coaching” to the name of this blog. Why?--because that is what is next for me. I have had success in terms of maintaining weight loss, and I want to share what I have learned with people.

There is so much information out there, and some of it is misleading and confusing. Especially when one diet says eat this and another says don’t. We can work together to find out which information works best for you.

And coaching is not just about dieting. That’s just part of my story. I have had success in other areas too. Also I believe that we all need support and guidance.

Everyone can use a cheerleader from time to time.

As a coach I will help you with your goals and help you break them down in to realistic manageable bits.

Just a quick note about me: I have an extensive customer service background; I have worked in the retail industry and in fast food. My longest “gig” was with a retreat/resort center. I took care of reservations and then managed the entire reception staff. That part of my life lasted almost 20 years.

Since that time I have been in the telecommunications industry. Teaching and coaching customers in regards to their phone and internet service. Sometimes what you want to show people takes more than just a 15 minute phone call.
And that’s another part of my story.

Five years ago, a friend told me to go into coaching. I guess he saw something in me. Now i see it in myself.

My favorite quote is: “One should never stand in the shadow of one’s own success.”

Please feel free to leave me any comments and suggestions.

Namaste
